“Okay, God, I see you.”

This post was intended to be written yesterday but well, you know, life happens and sometimes just vegging on the couch after a long week of work takes priority. I’m really trying to get into a routine with posting on here so I really appreciate you all bearing with me through this!

What is going on in my life? Well…. Hm. I’m doing my best at this whole “adult” thing and working a lot to learn more and more every day. I genuinely enjoy my job which makes me really happy but I do put in a lot of hours. However, I actually don’t mind this at all because with more time is more learning and since I don’t know where I will be at this time next year, I want to shove as much knowledge into this head of mine while I can. My hours are all over the place (hence why I’ve had trouble getting into a routine) but I’m confident I’ll get it figured out soon!

I did some things last weekend that were really out of my comfort zone. Let’s rewind to last Friday… I had heard from a neighbor that there is a CrossFit gym up the street that she goes to because it’s fun and she met people through there. Up until she told me that I never in my life thought about doing CrossFit (this is a whole other discussion that I’ll save for later 😉 ). Anyway, last Friday I told myself that I would wake up the next morning and go to their free class just to check it out so that is what I did. I figured that going to this class would at least make me a more rounded person and coach and I would understand the basics, etc. Needless to say, I had an absolute BLAST, a great workout, and even made some friends. I was on cloud 9 and drenched in sweat.


This is my new friend, Brynja! Have you ever met one of those people that you just click with instantly? That is her for me. I’m so thankful for her friendship even though it has only been a week.

The following day I woke up early and decided that since I was awake, I would put on my Sunday best and head to a church in the area. I found out about the 7 Hills Church from another neighbor of mine, also at the same place I found out about CFNKY (it was a pizza party… Ironically enough. Of course I was there 😉 ). Back to my point, if you are ever in the Northern Kentucky area I highly suggest that you attend OR even if you aren’t in the area people watch all over the world throughout the week! Just click the link 😉 I can pretty much say hands down that it was one of the best church services I’ve ever attended in my life. BUT that’s not the cool part! The cool part is that while I was waiting outside to go in for the service, the owners of the CrossFit gym that I had just joined the day before walked past me and did a double take. Sure enough, their family has been going to that church for years and I sat right smack dab in the front row with them for the entire service. I couldn’t help but say, “Okay, God, I see you!” I immediately called my dad after the service, told him the story and said, “Dad!!! God is great.”  He is indeed…

Later that day I attended an endurance class at CFNKY. It kicked our butts and can easily say it was probably the most difficult workout I’ve gone through since my club soccer years. Following the endurance course we had a yoga class that was so rejuvenating and I’m really thankful I did that class because I don’t know if I would’ve been able to walk at all come Monday had that hour of stretching not happened. This will definitely be another Sunday ritual. I went to CrossFit throughout the week and didn’t go for a single run. I don’t have any shame in saying that at all. Life changes, people, and right now I just don’t feel like running and I was craving that type of atmosphere. That also, will come along with the whole “CrossFit and why I didn’t think I would ever do it” post.


FRIDAY! Not only was it Friday but I decided to try a donut shop in the area. It’s called Miss Shirley’s Bakery and Lunchette. The line was so long that it took me about 10 minutes to get my donuts but it was so worth it. They have so many different flavors of donuts and they sell cakes, pastries, pies, and more. There are so many delicious things to try but for now I do know that the donuts are great. I would probably say one of the top 10 places? I need to write them all out to figure it out. Either way, it’s high on the list.

Favorite part of the week: Everything about Sunday: Church, endurance class, yoga. Everything about it.

Meal prep for the week:

  • Broccoli, chicken, rice, and cheese casserole. I’m working on modifying the recipe but as soon as I get it to where I want it to be I will post on here.
  • Grapefruit
  • Detour protein bars (I found these at Costco for a pretty good deal so I decided to try them out and they’re great!)
  • Jimmy Dean egg white, turkey sausage, and cheese breakfast sandwich (check the macros they’re pretty dang awesome)

    It is so important to not only have surprises in life but also to have a few go to routines. I’m so excited that CrossFit and yoga, with my amazing new friend Jordan, will be part of my Sunday routine. It makes me healthy and happy. Thanks be to our great Lord for guiding Jordan and I through the unknown waters to CrossFit Northern Kentucky on the same day, at the same time. Though I know, God, your plan is much bigger than a great workout.
